Two people were on Friday injured and rushed to the hospital when bees attacked them in Mitimingi market in Gilgil sub county.

The injured Simon Karanja and Samuel Maingi were hawkers who were going about their business selling merchandise before the bees stung.

The food vendors were arguing where to pinch their tents when one of them become angry and threw a stone at a nearby bee hive after he was allocated a place far away from a junction use by many people.

Business came to a stand still for close to two hours as buyers, sellers and animals ran for their safety.

"I saw people from the lower side of the market running and I ran too thinking it was an attack," said an eye witness Joseph Mutuli

The two who got serious injuries were taken to Gilgil hospital.
