Two men were on Tuesday arraigned before a Nakuru court to answer charges of car theft.

Samuel Ndirangu and Julius Mwangi are alleged to have stolen a Toyota Harrier valued at Sh1.5 million, belonging to Beatrice Wangui on July 24 within Nakuru town.

The court heard that they were seen by other people in possession of the car.The two were arrested on Monday within Nakuru town after the police traced them and were taken to central police station where they were charged.

Appearing before Principle Magistrate Bernard Ndenda, they pleaded not guilty and prayed to the court that they be given a favorable bond that they can manage to raise.

They were released on a cash bail of Sh250, 000 each and also a copy of their identity card.

The case will be heard on October 5.
