Two people are nursing injuries at Thika level five hospital after their vehicle overturned in Thika on Sunday night.
The two, a driver and his co-driver were transporting cereals in a truck.
According to the Thika traffic police department, the accident took place at around 2.00am. The driver is said to have lost control the truck after at Gatitu junction, which is currently under expansion, where the truck veered of the road and overtuned.
Traffic police base commander Apelles Chacha said that the two are being treated at the hospital after police on patrol who had arrived at the scene promptly rushed the two to the hospital.
She added that the area is currently under expansion and that the traffic congestion being experienced might cause lots of commotion if the drivers don’t take control of their vehicles.
The officer has called on the county government to keep an eye on their work to avoid a lot of accidents at the scene considering the vehicles are forced to divert ways and thus causing congestion.
Meanwhile a group of casual workers have been assigned to offload the truck which was fully loaded with cereals.
