Uasin Gishu County Assembly Speaker Isaac Terer has urged residents to turn up in large numbers and give their views on the proposed 2015/2016 Finance Bill.

Speaking in his office at the county assembly on Monday, Terer said through public participation, the residents will able to air the views to be taken into consideration.

“I urge Uasin Gishu residents to turn out in large numbers since the exercise is ongoing in every ward,” he said.

“They should tell us what projects they want prioritised and those that they want us to make changes on or completely do away with it. The bill cannot be implemented without your input as enshrined in the constitution.”

He also challenged youth to come out and share their views instead of always complaining that the county government has ignored them.

"It is time for the youth to fully participate in the development of the county and country through such avenues of public participation. This will inform us on what they are facing and thus find projects that will economically empower them so as to improve their living standards. This will discourage them from the white-collar job mentality," he added.
