Kiambu senator Kimani Wamatangi has asked Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord) leaders to stop politicising the war against corruption and instead allow the government to deal with corruption.

Speaking to journalists in Kiambu town on Sunday, Wamatangi said that the move by some Cord leaders to politicise corruption will derail the process.

The senator said that the fight against corruption will be achieved or won if politics is kept out.

The Kiambu senator further alleged attempts by Cord to frustrate the government efforts in fighting graft.

“Cord leaders should give the government time and space to conduct its functions,” he said.

Wamatangi said that blame games on graft and insecurity will not help the country.

He said that the Jubilee government is committed to fighting graft and insecurity.

“President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto have shown their commitment to fight corruption and we must support them,” said Wamatangi.

The Kiambu senator accused Cord of using graft and insecurity to crucify the government.

He added that the opposition is using corruption and insecurity to win the support of Kenyans.

Wamatangi said that part of the Jubilee manifestation was to eliminate corruption.

He urged elected leaders to support the government in its quest to fight corruption and streamline security across the country.
