A 90 year-old-woman from Ng'ethu sub-location in Gatundu North is appealing for help to recover her sheep that was confiscated after a dispute with a neighbour.

Esther Wanjiku said that the sheep wandered into her neighbour’s shamba after it went loose from where she had tethered it her home.

She says that when her neighbour found it in his land, he took it to the area assistant chief Elkana Mwangi to demand compensation.

"I was told to pay a fine which took me sometime to get. After I finally got it, I took it to the assistant chief but he never gave me back my sheep,” said Wanjiku at her home on Tuesday.

The granny says that she has since learnt that the sheep was slaughtered by the administrator and now wants action taken against him.

Her granddaughter, Mary Wanjiku says that the sheep was a treasured possession of her grandmother and now wants justice for her.

However, the assistant chief has denied the allegations saying that she is out to tarnish his name.

"That matter was solved a long time ago and I can't remember slaughtering anyone's sheep," he said when Hivisasa contacted him on phone.
