Nyamira CeCs and chief officers have been challenged to work hard and deliver on the expectations of residents on the respective tasks they are charged with.

Nyamira County Secretary, Eric Onchana Aori said the county executive members needed to perform exceptionally so that residents can fully benefit from devolution.

He was briefing the press at Itibo Lodge, where CeCs, chief officers and MCAs convened for a three-day consultative meeting.

Aori said that the two arms of government were meeting for the CeCs to present an action plan for an earlier annual development plan.

"As per the Public Finance Management Act, Section 126, the annual development plan of the county government is to be forwarded to the assembly for approval, something the CeCs forwarded to the house on September 1, this year," he said.

He said that the CeCs were presenting the projects to the MCAs for both parties to decide whether they were viable, sustainable and whether there was enough funding for the projects to run smoothly.

"In a cabinet meeting held last week governor Nyagarama directed cabinet members to commence visiting projects in the field and report back to him on the same," he said.

This comes ahead of a one-week industrial training camp for CeCs and chief officers by experts from Performance Contracting Division in the Ministry of Planning and Devolution.
