A youth who on Monday pleaded guilty to stealing a Sh90,000 motorbike has on Friday denied the charges before a Nakuru court.
Jackson Kimani is alleged to have stolen a motorcycle belonging to Francis Kinyua on October 11 at Wanyoro B area in Bahati constituency.
According to the prosecution, Kinyua had parked the motorcycle at Joska Inn at 9pm, but later found it missing.
On same the night of October 12 at around 2am, Kimani was allegedly seen ridding the motorbike and was confronted by the public.
The court was told that he tried to run away with it but due to panic, he accidentally lost control and fell into a ditch injuring himself.
The public beat him before a Good Samaritan rescued him and took him to Bahati Sub District Hospital where he received medication and his wounds dressed.
He was later taken to Bahati police station and charged.
On October 13, the prosecution said it was not ready to read the facts because the exhibits were not availed before the court and prayed for another date.
Appearing before Senior Resident Magistrate Liz Gicheha, the suspect pleaded not guilty and was released on Sh50,000 surety bond and an alternative cash bail of Sh30,000.
The case will be mentioned on October 29 and heard on February 3, 2016.
