The two named Japheth Mulinge and Samuel Nzioka were arraigned before Senior Resident Magistrate Martha Opanga.

Opanga made the judgement to the two present and the other eight charging them with stealing by force and burning down business premises in Katisye market.

According to the police report, the accused on March 1, 2016 burned down two sand tax offices in Duka Moja and Musingi.

The accused allegedly severely hurt Titus Mwanzia Kimani and Japheth Mutuku Mbatha who are members of Masinga Natural resources Management Society.

Speaking after the court hearing, the Lawyer of the accusers Joel Kyatha Mbaluka termed the attack as a bad competition attempt.

"The hooligans were hired by competitors who do not want some companies to be tax collectors for selfish gains which is against the law," said Mbaluka.

The two were denied release on bond but will instead remain in custody.

The police have been issued with arrest warrants for the other 8 suspects.

The case will be heard again on April 16, 2016.
