The home of champions Eldoret Uasin Gishu county on Wednesday hosted three heads of state led by the host President Uhuru Kenyatta, Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari and  Somalia President Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud.

The three, accompanied by other political leaders, were in course to attend an inter-denominational memorial service at Moi Barracks in Eldoret for in honour of Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldiers who were killed in El-Adde, Somalia following an Al-Shabaab ambush. 

This is the second memorial service for the fallen heroes.

Last week, President Kenyatta led other political leaders and government officials at a similar interdenominational service at the Armed Forces Memorial Hospital in Nairobi.

Among the leaders present were Deputy president William Ruto, Foreign Affairs CS Amina Mohamed,Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago and his counterpart Cleophas Lagat from Nandi County.
