Kinyaata Location Chief Stephen Kivuva on Thursday night raided a home in Kaamani area, Yatta Sub-County and recovered 60 litres of illicit brew.
Speaking to this writer after the raid, the chief who was accompanied by sub-chiefs from Makutano, Mavingau and Kinyaata Sub-Locations, said they had received a tip off from members of the public.
The chief said residents had informed them that the suspect had been selling illicit brew in his home.
However, Kivuva said they were not able to arrest the suspect as he escaped through his bedroom window.
"We were notified that the suspect brews illicit brew and we had planned to nab him but he unfortunately fled before we got a chance to do so,” said Kivuva.
The chief however vowed not to relent in the fight against illicit brew, adding that he will ensure the illegal business is not conducted during this festive season.
