In what might turn out to be a case of an early marriage, a form two student in Kisii county has allegedly wooed a 15-year-old primary school pupil to cohabit with her.
The boy who was in form one last year reportedly seduced and impregnated the then class seven girl-child leading to her dropping out of school to become his ‘Wife’.
The so-called couples have since been blessed with a baby and the ‘Wife’ was relocated to Murang’a, her new matrimonial home.
This happened when the girl’s parents who were residents of a Kisii Town estate were separated following domestic differences.
The girl’s mother has come out protesting against the union of the two demanding that her daughter returns home to continue with her education.
Displaying letters from her daughter's school and Children’s department. She accused her husband of taking advantage of her absence to collude with the boy’s father to marry off their second born daughter.
The mother then moved to Kisii Central police station and reported the matter leading to the summoning of her estranged husband and the boy’s father to record a statement.
According to the mother, her efforts to get her daughter back through the law enforcement officers seemed to hit a hard rock.
During an interview with the Media, the frustrated Woman narrated how the police officers indicated a willingness to follow up the case and bring it to its logical conclusion only for them to allegedly develop cold feet.
The mother demanded that her husband and the boy’s father be held legally responsible for allowing their school going children to engage in early parenthood at the expense of formal education.
