I pen this down with the believe that our community has taken a step further all thanks to women empowerment.

For a decade now, you can bear witness with me that our women have progressed socially, economically and politically.

It is with such kind of a transformation that translates to achievement and excellence to our country.

As women worldwide mark the International Women's Day which is usually celebrated on March 8, it is imperative for Nakuru county and the nation at large to note that there's still a lot that needs to be done to ensure women are fully represented in various leadership positions.

For instance, this country can produce a female governor if the grounds are set with conducive political environment void of intimidation and discrimination.

In addition, the residents needs to extend their peripheries as far male based dominated positions are concerned.

As the day's celebrations kicks off in the 47 counties, let the song that women can do better be on every Kenyan's lips.

When all is said and done, women will also be expected to come forth and prove their worth.

This in essence will involve working extra hard, performing on their current positions, supporting other women and tackling the superiority complex with respect and open-mindedness.

 Cheers to all women!!!!
