Nakuru governor Kinuthia Mbugua issued the advice on Tuesday encouraging young people from the county to acquire the requisite skills so as to benefit fully from the jobs that will be created.

"As a county we are happy that finally the railway project is almost here. It will indeed provide job opportunities to thousands of jobless youth not only in our county but also across the country.

Therefore, I want to urge such youth to acquire skills that will come in handy for the required tasks," he said.

The SGR project which is likely to grace the county early next year will pass through several sections with areas such as Gilgil and Naivasha sub counties already earmarked.
