Nyakach MP Aduma Owuor has warned area leaders against fighting among themselves claiming it is affecting voter registration.
“We have failed in mobilising voters and we are busy engaging in political shows. This is affecting voter turn out and might cost us the top seat come 2017,” said Owuor.
He said leaders from Nyanza should learn to settle issues ‘in-house’ and not wash their dirty linen in public while also forgetting that it is the presidential seat which is the most important.
“We can solve our own issues ourselves and not fight in front of the Cord leader. It is shameful,” said Owuor.
His Muhoroni counterpart Onyango K’oyoo asked other parties that are not allied to Cord to also help in voter registration and not leave everything to the opposition.
Despite Coalition for Reforms and Democracy performing better than other regions in the first week of registration, the numbers are still way below the targets placed by both the opposition and IEBC.
Raila at the weekend asked Nyanza leaders not to sit pretty because they were leading in the current voter registration exercise.
“You have been telling me not to despair in my quest for presidency and that you are behind me. But the way you people are registering does not really show that you are ready to capture power,” said Raila.
