Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Willy Bet has urged farmers to diversify their their farming practices.
Speaking when he officially opened the Eldoret ASK Show in Eldoret on Friday, Mr Bett said farmers should not only concentrate on maize farming .
"Farmers need to adjust their farming techniques and venture into other forms of agriculture such as pyrethrum," he said.
The agriculture CS insisted on the need to venture into to other agricultural practices.
"Ventures such as growing macadamia nuts, avocado and even paw paws are very lucrative," said Bett.
Bett also assured farmers that the government is determine to promote agriculture so as to improve food security in the country.
"As a ministry, we are determined to ensure that every farmer get access to fertilizer and seeds at an affordable prices," he said.
