Residents of Nyamira county have been warned against falling prey to a group of conmen promising people jobs at the county government offices.

The cartel operating an illegal county Public Service Board (PSB) has so far milked unsuspecting job seekers of thousands of shillings for non existing jobs in the county government offices in the past few months.

On Wednesday in a statement, the Nyamira county Public Service Board issued an alert about the syndicate as 3 young women were arrested for presenting fake appointment letters for deployment by human resources office at the county headquarters.

According to board chairman Mr. Peter Nyatigo, the ladies had paid up to Kshs. 50,000 each to the syndicate as a bribe before they were issued with fake appointment letters.

“2 women have already been arrested when they visited the human resource offices and presented the fake appointment letters for deployment,” said the chairman.

This comes barely weeks after some suspects were arrested in Nyamira town for conning people that they will offer them with employment.
