Kisumu County executive for Tourism Rose Kisia has been put on the spot over claims of failing to adequately promote tourist sites.
Nominated MCA Farida Salim said the minister should allocate more resources in improving tourist sites in the county.
The MCA said it is through the promotion that local investors would come to the region to initiate development ventures.
She further said the minister should also create tourism and hospitality forums that would educate residents on hospitality.
Salim also wants the CeC to promote youth talents saying through such the youth would get occupied and would help advertise the region.
“We need to market our county properly to local investors to help improve development agenda. This can only be done when the Minister for Tourism ensures her docket is properly managed,” she said.
Her county assembly counterpart, Caroline Ogot also emphasised the importance of highly investing in tourism to help market the county both locally and abroad.
