Nyamira-based youth group have donated foodstuffs and other items worth Shs50,000 to Riamoya children's home.

Led by Anchors for Change group chairperson Samson Omenta, they donated cooking oil, rice, sugar, biscuit juice, basins and buckets among other items to the orphans.

The donations were made on Sunday evening during an annual joint thanksgiving that the organisation does carry out monthly.

“We are looking forward to see that many children in various children’s homes get help from us and we call for other organisations to carry such activities,” said Omenta.

While receiving the donation, the administrator of the children’s home, Titus Mokua, thanked them for providing food security apart from the protecting them and their property.

“It came as a surprise since we all know that such time of the year it’s hard to find organisations that give us support,” he added.

Mokua called upon other well-wishers to come in to assist the children’s home because of the delay experienced in receiving funds from the national government.
