Homeboyz Foundation on Wednesday organised a forum in Kibera to educate women on their rights.

The foundation’s spokes person and motivational speaker Linda Chalker challenged women to come out in large numbers and compete for elective seats in the 2017 elections.

‘’As women, we have been undermined for a long time. We should come out and fight for our positions,” she said.

Linda told the women to team up and support one woman so that they can have a person to represent them in the county and at the sub-county levels.

Among those who attended the forum were representatives from the office of Nairobi woman representative Rachael Shebesh.

The women were also challenged to form groups and apply for funds from the government through Uwezo Fund so that they can start or boost their businesses.

“I want to motivate you to apply for Uwezo Fund to boost your businesses,’ said Linda.

Those who attended the forum said they have learnt a lot.

Catherine Makokha said she now knows her position as a woman and that she is ready teach other women what she has been taught.
