The review of Kisii County government's 2014/15 financial expenditure that was scheduled for Friday this week has been put off to Monday, December 7.
Speaker Kerosi Ondieki said this will allow County Executive Committee members to attend an anti-corruption training sponsored by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
Addressing the press in his office Thursday evening, Ondieki said it was prudent for the County Assembly members who were supposed to interrogate the CeCs on the expenditures to allow them complete the training and conduct the meeting on Monday, to avoid disrupting EACC's programme in the county.
He said the County Assembly had already passed a resolution, fixing Friday this week to have the CeCs appear before the assembly to give comprehensive reports on how the funds allocated to their ministries were utilised.
"The County Assembly through a resolution had set Friday this week for the review of the 2014/15 financial year budget and have each of the ministers give their reports on the utilisation of the funds they were allocated," stated Ondieki.
