The auditions for Miss Tourism Nakuru County which were scheduled to take place within the 11 sub-counties this month have been suspended.

Speaking on the phone, the county youth president Mr Philip Ngok confirmed that the auditions have been stopped temporarily.

“The county assembly through the MCAs has temporarily stopped the planned auditions for some few clarifications. They will need to debate on the same, so that we can be allowed continue,’’ explained Ngok.

The cancellation came as a surprise to tens of models who had showed up Tuesday at Pivot Hotel for the selection to represent the Nakuru West sub-county.

“I came here at 8am and was informed that the judges and organisers have not arrived. I have waited for four hours until we got news that the event has been postponed. I wish they had communicated earlier. They have really inconvenienced most of us,’’ said Cecilia Muonzi, a student at Nakuru Archivers College.

It is not clear when the auditions will resume despite the fact that the national auditions in search of Miss Tourism Kenya will take place in May and Nakuru County needs a representative by end of March.
