Eburi DEB Primary School 2015 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) candidates in Sameta Sub-County have been warned against engaging in examination irregularities.
The headteacher, Tom Omwange reiterated the warning by the Kenya National Examinations Council (Knec) that if found cheating, they risk having their results cancelled and barred from sitting for future examinations for three consecutive years.
Speaking at the School on Friday, during the prayers meeting for the candidates, Omwange also warned parents against procuring alleged leaked examination papers, reminding them it will endanger the children's examination results.
Instead, parents were told leave their children to concentrate on what they had been preparing for the last eight years.
Omwange said, though teachers were demoralised by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) failure to pay them their September salaries, he was optimistic that his candidates will post good grades in KCPE results saying they have prepared them well.
"Professionally teachers need ample time to prepare their learners and ensure they excel in their examinations, but due to the teachers' industrial action, there was disruption of learning," Omwange said.
The class teacher for this year's KCPE candidates, Miyienda Nyaberi expressed optimism that the candidates were poised to post good results, despite interruptions during the teachers' industrial action.
Nyaberi expressed confidence that they would beat the school's mean score target of 255 points, up from last 215 in the 2014 KCPE.
