Ndumberi youth have been advised not to wait until the last minute so as to register as voters.

Speaking to youth at Ndumberi trading centre on Thursday, area youth coordinator Kevin Mburu said there is a tendency of people waiting for the last minute to do things.

He asked residents to utilise the available time and visit registration centres in the area.

Mburu said waiting for last minute will be tedious on the part of registration officers.

“The voter registration exercise began on Monday and we want to encourage youth and any other person who has not registered to utilise the available time by visiting registration centres,” he said.

The coordinator also asked employers to give their staff time to register adding that it is an important exercise that every eligible person should participate in.

He asked community leaders to rally behind residents to register as voters for them to take part in the 2017 general elections.

The voter registration exercise commenced on Monday and will run until mid next month. The registration is being conducted in readiness for the 2017 general elections.
