Kiambu deputy county commissioner Nobert Komora has urged owners and operators of entertainment joints to observe the noise limits as outlined by the law. Komora wants bars and pubs to make sure that they keep the required volume level of music in their entertainment joints.
The DCC said that there are regulations on noise pollution that must be adhered especially this festive season.
“Owners and operators of entertainment joints must observe the noise regulations as stipulated by the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA)," said the Kiambu DCC.
Mr. Komora said that the police will not hesitate to arrest offenders of the law on noise pollution. He added that police will be patrolling to make sure that the law is adhered to.
Komora has also advised pubs and bar operators to strictly adhere to the hours specified for selling alcohol. He additionally advised locals to drink responsibly if they have to and cautioned them not to drive while under the influence of alcohol.
