A 43-year- old man was on Tuesday arrested for allegedly defiling a minor at Huruma Estate Uasin Gishu County.
Confirming the incident, inspector of police Baharini police station Julius Lagat said the suspect is alleged to have raped the seven-year-old girl several times at an empty house after luring her with a sweet.
"We received information from Kandia Primary School teachers where the child attends classes that she has been defiled by a guard who enticed her with a sweet," he said.
The officer said the girl identified the suspect who admitted to having raped the girl not once but several times.
"We have arrested the man and he is at Baharini police station. He will be arraigned in court on Thursday to be charged with rape," he added.
He said the child was taken to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital where the doctors confirmed she was defiled.
