Bodaboda business operators at Bahati trading centre have been urged to stay alert and identify their colleagues who help criminals in carrying out their robbery especially during the night hours.

Speaking at Bahati centre on Monday where David Mwaura a businessman was gunned down on Sunday night by suspected robbers, Bahati area mp Kimani Ngunjiri issued stun warning to motorists calling them to report any suspicious members in their group to police officers.

The suspected robbers are said to have shot Mwaura before using a motorbike to escape from the scene.

"All motorcyclists in this area should be vigilant against crime and report suspicious characters among them to the police. How can you operate your businesses at day time while waiting for night hours to help thugs in committing such acts? We will not allow this to happen again, here or anywhere around," Ngunjiri said.

The area Deputy County Commissioner Kithinji Ithai also asked the bodaboda operators to only work within the stipulated time limit stating that those found working past that time will be punished.

"We had agreed that all motorcyclists should work from 6am-9pm, beyond which staunch action will be taken to those found breaching the law," Kithinji said.
