Speaking on Wednesday at Murungaru Primary School after he led officials from the Bank's Nakuru branch in presenting the cheque, Ngunjiri noted that the move is a boost to his local Constituency Development Fund (CDF) kitty in ensuring that bright but needy students are not denied their chance to education.

"With such programs on board, other funds can be channeled towards developing infrastructure and acquiring other important learning material," he said.

The MP urged the beneficiaries to utilize the chance well saying that it would be very bad to let the sponsors down. Simon Karanja is the second student to be awarded the sponsorship after Patrick Kinyua.

Ngunjiri also seized the opportunity to make a Kshs. 800, 000 donation from the CDF kitty for the construction of three classes at the institution. He also committed to soliciting for donors that will help construct and equip computer labs in all leading public primary schools in the area.
