Residents from Boigesa village in Sameta sub-county have been warned against consuming adulterated milk to avoid contracting diseases.

On Wednesday evening, area community health worker Japhet Nyareru warned milk hawkers that they risk arrest from law enforcement agencies if found selling adulterated fresh milk to unsuspecting consumers.

Addressing a public baraza on Wednesday evening in the village, Nyareru lamented that there were incidents where unsuspecting members of the public in the area consumed contaminated milk being hawked by unscrupulous vendors operating in the shopping centres.

Nyareru urged the public to be cautious while buying fresh milk from vendors who normally hawk it late in the evenings to capitalise on the unsuspecting consumers' conscious during the rush hours.

"I am reminding residents that consuming adulterated fresh milk endangers their lives and as such, they should be careful while buying the product from unscrupulous hawkers who conduct their trade late in the day," stated Nyareru.
