Bonchari constituency MP Zebedeo Opore has been accused of facilitating and hiring goons that interrupted a fundraising ceremony that was held on Sunday at Gesero secondary school in Kisii south sub-county.
It is alleged that Opore had hired goons to beat up all those who opposed his presence in the function.
Tom Manani one of the victim who was harassed and beaten up by the goons accused Opore of intimidating Bonchari constituents who try to oppose his leadership.
"I was harassed and beaten up by the hired goons from Opore only because I was attending the same function Opore was attending. This intimidation should stop. Police officers watched as I was being pulled out of the venue. The poor leadership in our constituency and intimidation should stop. 2017 will be a time to tell. Opore has been hiring goons and sungusungu to kill his opponents from the constituency who opposes him," said Manani.
Engineer Pavel Oimeke's car and MP aspirant in Bonchari was attacked and destroyed by the same hired goons.
Robert Nyakundi noted that the hired goons have been going round injuring people who oppose Opore's leadership.
"Hired goons attacked us and damaged Oimeke's car. A commotion that led to breaking of several phones and looting of Oimeke's personal effect," posted Robert Nyakundi on his facebook page.
Opore was among the leaders who attended a fund drive to raise money for Gesero Secondary school for construction of school facilities.
