Traders at Kibuye market in Kisumu County have reasons to smile during this festive season as they record increased sales.
A spot check at the market showed that there is an increased number of customers.
In an interview with several traders at the market on Sunday, many of them were upbeat that they are now making a kill out of every day’s sales.
Michael Otieno, who runs a shop in the market, told this writer that women and children are flooding the market to shop for trendy clothes in preparation for the Christmas.
“I always increase my stock immediately we get to the month of December because that is when I receive a lot of customers,” Otieno said.
“I majorly deal in children clothing as they always come for new ones for the Christmas,” he added.
Next to his shop is Lucy Oluoch who makes clothes from local materials, she echoes Otieno’s sentiments.
“The season is good, we are making good sales,” she said.
For Samuel Ochieng, a butcher, he said he expects good sales starting December 24, 2015.
“Meat is perishable, they will come in big numbers a few days to the big day,” Ochieng said.
