Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire has challenged President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto to declare their wealth if they are serious in the fight against corruption.
Addressing the press on Friday in Kisii Town, Bosire said declaration of their wealth will reveal how they acquired their wealth and seal graft loopholes.
The MP questioned the huge amounts of money top government officials were donating in fundraisers across the country.
He hailed Safaricom and Kenya Commercial Bank CEOs Bob Collymore and Joshua Oigara respectively for declaring their wealth recently.
"To show that you are serious in the fight against corruption you must lead by example. President Kenyatta and his deputy should declare their wealth just like Collymore and Oigara did," suggested Bosire.
He added: "We want to know where Ruto and other senior government officials get the millions of money they give in fundraisers."
The duo announced their wealth last week as one way of fighting corruption in the country.
According to a declaration of wealth posted by the Safaricom CEO, he has a net worth of Sh277.3 million in cash, properties and shares.
He also revealed that he takes home Sh9 million as monthly salary.
Oigara on the other hand said his net worth is currently Sh220 million, made up of total assets of Sh350 million and loan obligations of Sh130 million.
He also said he earns Sh4.5 million per month.
