Two major highways in Kitutu Masaba constituency that are currently under construction will be tarmacked soon, area MP has reaffirmed.

The two, Kemera-Tombe-Amabuko and Metamaywa-Mosobeti, were initiated three years ago, but their construction has been marred with delays leading to anxiety from residents.

But MP Timothy Bosire said on the official Facebook account of the constituency on Tuesday that the contractors will expedite the construction after a fruitful meeting with the Ministry of Roads and contractors.

“I want to assure you that Tombe-Amabuko and Metamaywa-Mosobeti roads will be tarmacked soon. We have been having a lot if intrigues but the meeting we held with contractors and the ministry of roads was successful. I am in constant communication with the contractors and they have assured me that,” he said.

“The contractors in the aforementioned roads will provide alternative route and I plead with motorists to comply with their directives to make work easier. We want to see these roads tarmacked soonest and I am keen to see the work done expeditiously,” he added.

He also urged residents to be patient as his leadership consults with the county government to improve feeder roads for the sake of improving accessibility and trade in the region.

“In consultation with the county government, we are also working on improving feeder roads in our constituency to ensure all areas are accessible. This is an agricultural area and our people need polished roads for easy transportation of products to markets,” he said.

He cautioned fellow politicians against politicising development matters, and urged residents to be tolerant to all aspirants.
