Aidai MP Cornelly Serem should be arrested and compelled to record statement about his knowledge on rigging of 2017 elections in favor of government, the Kitutu Masaba MP has said.

Mr Serem made the sensational claims about rigging of 2017 polls during the burial of Mrs Grace Kisia, mother to former Nairobi town clerk Philip Kisia, arguing that opposition leader Raila Odinga would still lose elections even if he beat Uhuru Kenyatta.

But the remarks have not gone down well with Mr Timothy Bosire who now demands that his colleague get arrested and grilled by CID over the claims to ascertain the truth.

“I am really disappointed with Serem’s remarks (Cornelly). This means that he has prior information that Jubilee is out to rig CORD. He should be arrested to explain about his prior knowledge because he has preempted Jubilee’s plan,” Bosire said on Monday when handing over a CDF cheque to Iranya primary.

The ODM treasurer challenged CID to do its job and also called for intervention of the Francis Kaparo-led NCIC, saying the remarks were likely to incite Kenyans against each other.

“It’s really difficult to expect CORD accept elections outcome when an MP makes such remarks about rigging and gets scot free. CID should arrest him so that he explains to us how the government is planning to rig us. NCIC should also take charge and grill this MP. We want a free and fair election but it seems the government has other plans of rigging the will of the people,” he added.

He said the opposition will not accept anything less than a win in 2017 elections if Jubilee fails to give an official standing about their MP’s claims.

“When any Jubilee MP speaks, then it means that is what they discuss daily. As opposition, we will not accept the outcome of 2017 elections if we are rigged. These kinds of statements show how the government is planning to rig us. Mr. Serem has information that we will not take lightly as opposition,” he said.
