One person died and another sustained serious injuries after a building they were constructing caved in on Thursday afternoon, in Nakuru town.
While confirming the incident, Nakuru deputy OCPD, Janet Wasike, who was present at the scene, said the two builders were digging a foundation underneath the building when its walls caved in and buried them. She added that members of the public in coordination with the Kenya Red Cross, rescued the two but sadly one lost his life shortly after being rushed to the Rift Valley Provincial General Hospital while the other remained unconscious.
Wasike further stated that the foreman overseeing the construction of the collapsed building was not present at the scene at the time of the incident.
