Kangundo sub county residence on Thursday raised an alarm over the increase in robbery cases since the onset of rains.

The residents raised concern over the rising insecurity one day after a supermarket was broken into in Kangundo.

"They have stolen bundles of wheat flour, maize flour, sacks of rice, creats of bread among other food stuff and house holdings that I retail.

The thugs are taking advantage of the heavy rains which many times cause complete blackouts and make it impossible for the neighborhood to hear noises during break ins," said Mutinda, the owner of the shop.

This happened just a day after another robbery incident took place in Mukuyuni, Kangundo sub county, whereby a business lady named Erica Ndinda who owns a bar was taken by surprise after finding the bar counters all empty.

Kangundo people have called upon the police to intervene and at least ensure night time police patrols to protect their property.

They have also threatened to take actions of their own to protect their property is the authorities fail to do so.
