Nakuru woman representative Mary Mbugua has urged patients suffering from cancer to come out and speak in a bid to support each other.

Speaking in Naivasha on Saturday, Mbugua said many patients are suffering in silence thinking that they are the only ones undergoing the struggle.

“I am asking all of you who are suffering from cancer to come out. Women who are suffering are supposed to come out and even form groups where they can get government loans such as Uwezo Fund to initiate projects,” Mbugua said.

“This will ensure that we give each other moral support,” she added.

Mbugua was addressing a group of women in Kinamba area in Naivasha.

One of the attendants in the meeting said as a cancer patient, she has been suffering from no specific help from the government as they struggle with the ailment.

“We are suffering as cancer patients, we would like to know if there is a help that the government can give us as we struggle to defeat this disease,” the participant, who declined to be identified, said.
