Hundreds of Catholic faithful and priests on Tuesday gathered in Nakuru for the official opening of the Family Plaza.
Speaking during the ceremony the Catholic Diocese of Nakuru Bishop Rt Rev Maurice Muhatia thanked all members for the support in the mega project.
He revealed that the project would not have been achieved without the support of the faithful who have sacrificed and contributed their money for the project.
“As I speak today, I feel proud of my church members, priests, parish leaders and the many departments who have made this dream a reality. May God bless you all,’’ added the Bishop.
The cleric further stated that the project had come from far and it has been a step by step with everyone on board like one family.
‘’This project will benefit many people who will come after we are all gone. As a matter of fact, it will be of use to society. As a church, we need to sustain ourselves, so that we can be able to spread the good gospel of our Christ far and wide,’’ explained Bishop Muhatia.
The bishop had a light moment with the crowd when he reminded them that the plaza was one of the best projects because it cannot be easily carried,
“Suppose I was to move from Nakuru Diocese, will you suggest that I can put the plaza on my back? Bishop Muhatia Posed amid laughter’s from the gathered crowd.
The seven-storeyed building is now open to let for offices, institutions, hotels and other business.
The ceremony was also attended by the area MP David Gikaria.
