The estranged husband of slain Kalenjin musician Diana 'Chelele' Chemutai was been arrested in Nakuru.
Detectives arrested Erick Musila on Wednesday, after luring him from his hideout in the town, before grilling him for hours at the DCIO headquarters in Nakuru.
Musila is believed to be the prime suspect behind the murder of the songbird about a week ago in Bomet.
According to the detectives, they had been monitoring the former police officer's mobile phone communication which indicated that he travelled to Bomet from Nairobi on January 5, 2016, where he kept calling one particular number believed to be that of the slain musician.
The detective added that the phone signals further showed Chelele later joined Musila in a bar where their phones were later switched off until the musician's badly mutilated body was discovered in her house in Kapkwen area of Bomet two days later.
Nakuru DCIO James Lelia said they would hand the suspect to their Bomet counterparts to press on with murder charges against him .
