A section of Christians from Gesima ward have accused chiefs of laxity in the fight against alcoholism.
They said that alcoholism was on the rise in the area and had resulted to school dropouts.
They said the issue should be addressed with immediate effect to avert looming crisis.
Bishop Morema Oiga who was addressing believers on Monday at Matutu PAG Church said that the church will not watch the menace take over the region, and that they will put up a spirited fight to counter the crisis.
“As christians we need to fight evil doings in society, we need to join hands with security agents to fight this menace for a better future,” said Bishop Morema.
He added: “Alcohol has affected our society, if we cannot arise to fight it we will have no future generation.”
He challenged chiefs and other security agents to tighten rules which will help them to curb alcoholism in the area.
