The Tropical College of Management principal P.K. Kipkeu has urged college leavers to be job creators and stop the culture of waiting to be employed.
Speaking during the institution’s first graduation on Thursday where 419 students were conferred with diplomas, higher diplomas and certificates, Kipkeu challenged the graduands to use the knowledge gained in class to change the society.
"Gone are the days when graduands were only concentrating on the search of white collar jobs but they should be innovative and create jobs that will help them earn a living," he said.
He said the graduands should use the technical skills acquired to start businesses that will help them earn a living.
"You should stop always asking the government what it has done for you instead seek ways of how you can help contribute to the economy,” he said.
