Angaza Foundation has set up resources to help the Kisii community sensitise residents on how to end under age prostitution in the area.

According to the founders of Angaza, there is need for the community to have tips on how to end under age prostitution and this can be through getting civic education.

A psychologist, Stelah Osoro, is one of the leaders behind the movement. She was speaking on Wednesday at Kisii town for their fourth day visit of the area.

She said the Kisii community needs to address the issue by having measures in place which will help the young girls get out of the streets.

''We are going to sensitise the community on how to have  put measures in place to end this menace of under age prostitution at Kisii and Nyamira towns,'' said Stelah.

She added that the prostitution in Kisii and Naymira is rampant unlike in other towns in Kenya simply because of under age girls who have flocked the streets.

''I was shocked to realise that a young girls aged thirteen years can be in streets for prostitution, this needs to be addressed with immediate effect,'' added Stelah Osoro.

In addition, she said that poverty is the major factor that has led to these girls in the streets, an issue that also needs to be addressed.

''If we sensitise our community and come up with a solution on how to end these challenges, we will help our children'' added Stelah.
