Speaking on Monday during a press conference, their chairman Bishop Wilson Kurui said the affected families were in distress and needed financial aid.

"We stand in solidarity with our fallen soldiers who lost their lives protecting our country from Al-Shabaab. We urge the government to compensate the bereaved families fully. They should be given the salaries their husbands which they were supposed to earn until retirement," he said.

He also urged the government to deploy spiritual leaders to offer counselling to the affected families to help them fight trauma.
