Opposition coalition Cord is behind calls to have Devolution Cabinet Secretary Ann Waiguru impeached, Nakuru East MP David Gikaria has said.
Gikaria lashed out at the Opposition whom he accused of plotting to oust the CS to gain cheap political mileage.
"What we are seeing now are efforts by the Opposition to sacrifice Waiguru after realising that 2017 general elections pose doom for them," he said.
Gikaria added that Ms Waiguru was a hardworking woman who was overseeing over 17 departments in the expansive ministry.
He also called on Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter to drop his motion on Waiguru's impeachment, saying it had nothing to offer the country.
However, Gikaria' s sentiments are likely not to go down well with a section of his Jubilee counterparts, some of who have called on the embattled CS to resign over corruption claims in her docket.
Yesterday, Keter revealed that 30 MPs from Central Kenya had appended their signatures to oust the embattled CS.
