Swedish Ambassador to Kenya Johan Borgstam has reiterated the need for Kenya to fight corruption, terming it a scourge that risks destroying the countries future.

Addressing the media on Friday during his visit to Old Kibera Primary School in Kibera, Borgstam said that the international community is in solidarity with Kenya in the fight against impunity.

"Like I said to the press after that meeting with the anti-corruption commission, impunity breeds corruption and corruption breeds impunity.

It was important to go the anti-corruption commission to show that we share the intention that the president has said repeatedly that corruption is a scourge in Kenya. It risks destroying the country's future," he said.

He, however, made it clear that different partner countries to Kenya will take different approaches in dealing with the menace.

"The Kenyan people have been provoked by what is going on in the country. In support, different countries will take different measures in dealing the issues," added the Swedish envoy.
