Kisumu County Assembly is set to resume business on February 11, with top on the agenda being the scrutiny and passage of the supplementary budget Bill.

Speaking to this writer on phone, the Assembly Majority Leader Malin Olero said that will be the first agenda to be discussed in the house.

She said this will be an allocation for projects that were not included in the previous budget.

“We will be resuming with this particular house business as it is important for the county,” she said on Thursday.

There were concerns by residents that members of the County Assembly had gone for a long recess since last year while other assemblies had resumed business.

The majority leader said they have not stayed out for long and that the committee sittings were on going during the recess.

“During recess, the members of the Assembly were attending committee sittings where they prepared many reports. The reports will also be tabled in the house when we resume,” said Ms Olero.

Other MCAs the writer talked to expressed optimism that they will cover a lot of work when they resume.

Nominated MCA Lydia Odhiambo said they will be handling other motions too, since there are few months left before the end of the first term of devolution.
