Nyamira County government is yet again on the spot over the way it responded to Eronge SDA Boarding Primary School lightning tragedy.
On Wednesday night last week, lightning struck a dormitory in the school, leading to loss of property worth millions of shillings.
Addressing the press in his office, the school's headmaster Mr Evans Osinde condemned the county fire department for its slow response to the 7pm incident.
Nyauncho said that it took teachers over two hours to contain the fire which was spreading with speed.
He said that they resolved to using rain water after all the fire extinguishing machines ran out of gas.
Nyauncho further said that property worth over Sh15 million was destroyed in the incident.
Borabu MP Ben Momanyi promised to provide bedding to compensate the affected pupils.
