Kibuye market traders are calling upon the county government to expand the market to accommodate all traders and allow for efficient business to take place.

The traders claim the market is heavily congested making it hard to transport produce to their stalls.

“I have been here for the past 8 years yet the structures and size of the market is still the same yet businesses grow daily. The government should aim at expanding the market to allow for accommodation for all the businesses comfortably,” said Joyce Okoth, a trader.

“You can hardly move from one stall to another due to congestion. The congestion also causes the dirty state of the market. The government should take responsibility and expand the market since there is still free land at the outcasts of the market,’’ said Ms Okoth.

“The county government should consider relocating the market to a larger field where it will house sufficient structures where an ample dumping site can be accessed,’’ said Mike Oloo, another trader.
