Tanui said he had received reports from clients that there are some county officials who are always out of office even during working hours thus hindering service delivery.

"County workers are supposed to be at work from eight in the morning to five in the evening and anyone not in office during working hours should be reporting to me and I promise stern actions will be taken against them. Why did we employ you if you are not at your work station," he said.

He said he is carrying out investigations on county workers who are under performing and soon they will be shown the door to pave way for the performing ones.

He also warned Uasin Gishu residents of some cone men claiming that they will offer them employment at the county after paying some money.

"Our body is the only one that is mandated to hire and fire county officials and we only employ on merit without paying a single cent. I urge Uasin Gishu residents to report such people and stern actions will be taken against them, they should not allow themselves to be deceived," he said.
