The county government of Nakuru has promised to prioritise women empowerment in a bid to boost their living standards.
Speaking when he met over 10 women groups in Njoro sub county on Wednesday, Governor Kinuthia Mbugua revealed that the groups would receive a boost to carry out agricultural and business related activities to boost their livelihoods.
He added that the meetings he held with women groups as part of his 'Gavana Mtaani' initiative would guide the county government on how best they could boost them.
The women groups largely draw their membership from widows, the aged and those from humble backgrounds and mostly engage in agriculture related ventures such as bee keeping, poultry farming among others.
